We’re working with a Legal 500 recognised firm looking to hire an Associate (4+ PQE) into its highly regarded Real Estate Disputes & Service Recovery team in London. This is an exciting role within a busy, growing department where you’ll lead complex matters, manage your own caseload and work closely with senior leadership.
The firm is ranked in the Legal 500 across multiple practice areas and has an outstanding reputation in London. The RED&SR team has built a strong reputation for handling complex and high-value property disputes for developers, landlords, lenders and commercial clients. Despite its success, the culture remains personable and collaborative. There’s a friendly, down-to-earth feel across the business, with firm-wide events throughout the year — summer BBQs, sports days where partners and children are invited, and regular socials that genuinely bring people together. Work is high quality, but there’s also a clear commitment to work–life balance.
You’ll work closely with the Director and Head of Real Estate Disputes whilst running your own varied caseload. The work will include:
- Party wall disputes
- Developer and trespass claims
- Rights of light matters and easements
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Possession proceedings (including mortgage possession)
- Enforcement of personal guarantees
- Contested lease renewals
- Forfeiture and relief applications
- Debt recovery matters
You’ll be responsible for managing cases from start to finish, drafting and reviewing key documentation, and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and commercially. There is also an expectation that you’ll support and mentor junior lawyers, help maintain high technical standards across the team, and contribute to business development activity and networking within the sector.
Requirements
- 4+ PQE in Real Estate Disputes (ideally with recent London experience)
- Experience handling complex, high-value matters with minimal supervision
- Dealing with debt recovery matters
- Detail oriented approach to case and file management
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Continuous collaboration with other members of the Real Estate Disputes team and other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional service
- Assisting senior members of the team on high value/complex litigation
