An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Corporate Regulation practice of a Top 100 UK law firm, based in London. Sitting within the Commercial Litigation department, this role offers exposure to complex, high-profile regulatory and corporate responsibility matters for an impressive portfolio of national and international clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded regulatory lawyer seeking a visible role with genuine influence, career progression and the chance to help shape a growing and entrepreneurial practice.

The Role

  • Lead on a broad range of sophisticated and evolving regulatory matters, including:
    • Government consultations and associated regulatory obligations
    • Data protection and privacy compliance, including ICO guidance, cross-border data issues, breach response and risk assessments
    • Corporate responsibility, governance and reputation management matters
    • Sector-specific regulatory compliance, with a niche focus on private land parking regulation, enforcement and lobbying activity
    • Consumer law and compliance issues, including:
      • Product safety
      • Advertising standards (ASA/CAP)
      • Gambling licensing
      • Prize competition regulations
  • Play a key role in the wider growth and development of the team through:
    • Strategic input into the direction and expansion of the practice
    • Business development and client relationship management
    • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers
    • Producing thought leadership content, including articles, webinars and social media commentary
    • Keeping abreast of emerging legal and regulatory developments, particularly within AI governance and regulation

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ PQE in corporate regulatory, compliance or commercial regulatory matters (strong candidates outside this PQE range will also be considered)
  • Strong expertise in data protection, compliance and corporate responsibility issues
  • A keen interest in AI regulation and emerging governance frameworks
  • The ability to manage complex matters independently from inception through to resolution
  • Proven business development and client management experience
  • Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative and commercially focused approach
