Private Client Solicitor (4+ PQE) – London
A well-established private client team, part of a firm with over a century of heritage, is looking to hire an experienced solicitor as part of its continued growth. With 10 offices and 120 employees, the firm has built a loyal, long-standing client base and enjoys notably low staff turnover.
The Role
This is a busy, varied practice handling wills, probate and estate administration. You will run your own caseload of complex matters end to end, from initial instruction through to distribution, including higher-value and more technically demanding estates. Work will include drafting wills, advising on intestacy, handling contested estates and providing detailed inheritance tax planning advice to help clients mitigate their liability.
The role also covers advising on the creation and administration of trusts, preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney, and guiding clients through Court of Protection matters. As an experienced member of the team, you will supervise and mentor junior colleagues, act as a point of technical expertise within the department, and contribute to client development as the team continues to grow.
This would suit an experienced private client solicitor who enjoys complex technical work, is confident managing a substantial caseload independently, and wants to take a leading role in a firm known for clear, compassionate, jargon-free client care.
Requirements
You will be a qualified Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE in private client work, with significant experience across wills, probate, trusts and LPAs. In-depth technical knowledge of estate administration and inheritance tax is essential, along with experience of supervising or mentoring junior staff and a genuine, client-focused approach. STEP membership would be advantageous.
