Legal Director - Landed Estates
We're working closely with the Top 100 firm with a specialist Landed Estates and Agriculture practice, who are looking to hire a Legal Director.
The team acts for private landowners, families and landed estates on a broad range of rural property and agricultural matters. This is an opportunity for a senior solicitor or Legal Director looking for a varied caseload, sophisticated clients and the opportunity to take a senior role within an established practice.
The Role:
You'll advise landowners, families and estate owners on a broad range of matters including acquisitions and disposals of agricultural and rural property, estate management, agricultural tenancies, easements, rights of way, sporting rights and rural leases.
You'll also have exposure to areas including estate diversification, development, renewable energy, natural capital and biodiversity projects, alongside more traditional landed estates work.
You'll work closely with colleagues across private client, tax, trusts and property litigation, providing clients with a joined-up service across their wider estate and business interests.
The role will also involve developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the Landed Estates practice.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with circa 9 PQE
- Strong experience in landed estates, rural property or agricultural property
- Experience advising private landowners, landed estates, farming businesses or HNW clients
- Good knowledge of agricultural tenancies, rural property transactions and estate management
- Experience of acquisitions, disposals, leases, easements and other rural property matters
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent client care skills
- Ability to manage complex matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build long-term client relationships
Experience of renewable energy, development, natural capital, biodiversity or estate diversification would be advantageous.
