Restructuring & Insolvency Partner — West End, London
A top-ranked London law firm is looking to strengthen its Restructuring & Insolvency practice with an experienced Partner.
This is a unique opportunity to join a team at a moment when distress levels across the UK market remain elevated and the legal landscape is shifting fast — from tighter court scrutiny of restructuring plans to the growing use of liability management exercises and new statutory protection for digital assets in insolvency.
The Role
You'll take a leading role advising companies, directors, creditors and insolvency practitioners through both preventative restructuring work and formal insolvency proceedings, while building and developing your own client relationships and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the team.
Your work will include:
- Advising on corporate restructurings, refinancings and liability management exercises
- Acting on formal insolvency processes, including administrations, liquidations and restructuring plans
- Advising directors on duties and risk in periods of financial distress
- Representing creditors, lenders and insolvency practitioners across contentious and non-contentious matters
- Litigating disputed claims arising from insolvency proceedings
- Leading and developing business development initiatives to grow the practice
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales, with significant PQE and a strong track record in restructuring and insolvency
- Demonstrable experience leading complex, often multi-jurisdictional matters
- A well-developed network and proven ability to originate and grow client relationships
- Strong technical grounding across the Insolvency Act 1986 and related legislation
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Commercially astute, with sound judgement under pressure
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach with genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
Desirable
- Experience with cross-border restructuring and international insolvency issues
- Exposure to distressed M&A and special situations work
- Existing profile within the restructuring and insolvency market
- High-quality, complex work at the top end of the market; a genuine platform to build and lead a practice; a collaborative and ambitious team; a competitive remuneration package; and modern offices in the heart of the West End, London.
