Commercial Solicitor - Music & Entertainment
The Firm
We have been instructed by a leading Legal 500, specialist music firm which is looking for a Commercial Solicitor (1-2 PQE) to join its established Commercial Music team.
The firm has a strong reputation within the music and entertainment industries, advising a diverse client base across the creative sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to develop their commercial expertise while working with an impressive range of clients, including artists, managers, record labels, publishers and other industry professionals.
The team offers a collaborative environment where you will gain exposure to a broad range of commercial matters and work closely with experienced practitioners in a specialist area of law.
The Role
In this role, you will advise on a variety of commercial and contractual matters within the music industry, supporting clients on both day-to-day legal issues and more complex commercial arrangements.
You will be joining a market leading department, working with Legal 500 and Chambers recognised partners.
You will be:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements within the music and entertainment industries.
- Advising on recording, music publishing and distribution agreements.
- Assisting with management, representation and other talent-related agreements.
- Advising on licensing, intellectual property rights and the commercial exploitation of music and related content.
- Supporting clients with collaboration agreements, brand partnerships and other commercial arrangements.
- Reviewing contractual terms and identifying potential legal and commercial risks.
- Assisting with negotiations and helping clients achieve their commercial objectives.
- Managing client queries and providing clear, timely and practical advice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider music, media and entertainment practices.
Requirements
We are looking for a Commercial Solicitor (1-2 PQE) and experience within the music, media or entertainment sectors.
You will have a solid grounding in commercial contracts and experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, together with an understanding of intellectual property and licensing, would be advantageous.
A strong interest in the music industry is essential.
You will be:
