Private Client Partner in City of London

This Firm who have recently moved into their City office with clear growth ambitions are looking to hire a Private Client Partner to grow out the department as part of a plan to significnatly increase turnover in the coming years

The firm advises UK and international businesses, entrepreneurs, families and charities, and is known for building long-term client relationships and taking a practical, commercially minded approach. It is also a member of a major international professional services network, so clients can draw on cross-border legal, tax and accounting expertise.

The private client and charities team is well established and award-winning, and was recently recognised as one of London's leading private client teams. It handles a high-value, complex and often international caseload, including seven and eight-figure matters covering cross-border tax planning, inheritance tax mitigation, succession planning and estate administration. The team also has a particular specialism in charity formation, registration and governance, acting for grant-making trusts and charities working in medical research and environmental conservation. It works closely with the firm's corporate, commercial and real estate teams, which gives an incoming partner real cross-referral opportunities.

The Role

This is a busy, award-winning team in the City of London. You'll run a varied, high-quality caseload covering estate planning, trusts, estate administration (including cross-border estates), inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, contentious probate, charity formation and registration, and Court of Protection work. Clients range from families and individuals to high net worth clients and charities.

You'll manage your own client portfolio and billing targets, lead on business development, supervise and mentor junior lawyers, and work alongside the Head of Department to grow the practice. There are strong opportunities to refer work across the firm's corporate, commercial and real estate teams.

What you'll need

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), currently a Partner or at equivalent level
• STEP Full Member (TEP)
• Strong technical and drafting skills across the full range of private client work
• A portable client following and a proven track record of business development
• Experience of managing and developing a team
• Contentious probate, advocacy and charity experience would be a real advantage
