About Dougie Mac
Douglas Macmillan Hospice provides hospice care and support for adults, young adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses across Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and surrounding areas. The hospice also provides practical and emotional support to families and carers. Volunteers support the delivery and funding of hospice services.
About the Role
Dougie Mac operates 22 charity shops across the local area. These shops generate income to support hospice care services. Retail volunteers assist shop staff with daily tasks and support customer service. Volunteers can be placed in a shop location that is convenient to them.
Key Duties
- Maintain shop floor presentation and cleanliness
- Serve customers and operate the till
- Package customer purchases
- Support Gift Aid sign-up
- Display and merchandise stock
- Sort donated items including clothing and household goods
- Provide customer service
