We are seeking a talented Junior Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and creativity, with experience in various design software and tools. This is an exciting role that is set to evolve alongside the ambitious growth plans that we have carved out for Varsity Nine over the next few years and beyond. Our Junior Graphic Designer will be a creative, resilient and adaptable individual with a keenness to be part of a hard working team that loves what they do. The right candidate will also be able to artistically challenge the visual nature and creative representation of the sports industry, within the framework of our brand guidelines.

Armed with design experience and an artistic eye, you will be required to successfully support the asset requirements for several areas of the business. You will work closely with our marketing and video team to create and deliver key assets that support our BAU and sales activities. You will also be involved in creative tasks for special projects, partnerships and events. This is a diverse role that requires excellent time management and experience with various design tools and software in order to produce predominantly digital assets, but on occasion assets for print too. A knowledge of current design trends and innovation is essential, alongside a creative flair that understands and can identify the latest aesthetic looks, and apply them in graphic design assets.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Create visually appealing assets using various software (mainly Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Collaborate with the marketing and video team to create assets that meet set requirements delivered within tight deadlines
  • Work closely with our Marketing Manager to create and deliver assets for business critical projects and events
  • Champion the business’ visual identity and consistently produce assets that reflect our brand identity whilst conveying an element of ‘on-trend’ interest
  • Adeptly use Adobe Creative Suite for asset creation

CREATIVE TASKS & DELIVERABLES

Inline with the above, your tasks and projects will include;

  • Graphics for social media – including assets for social media ads
  • Marketing assets – such as digital brochures, website graphics and flyers for print
  • Event design – assets for banners, exhibitions stands and digital programmes
  • Merchandise design – graphics for use on water bottles and apparel
  • Sales assets – Presentation and deck design
  • Image and footage research and sourcing – for use across our website, on social platforms, within digital ads etc.
  • Video assets – assets for use in end screens etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in graphic design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Strong understanding of design principles and techniques, for both digital and print
  • Ability to work with various business stakeholders to bring design concepts to life and deliver required assets.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • A multitasker – the ability to manage multiple projects and work tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate and enjoy working within a diverse team environment
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good at solving design challenges
  • Fully IT literate – capable of using G Suite, Trello and Slack

PACKAGE

  • £23,500 – £26,000 per annum – dependant on experience
