Property Management Accounts Specialist Recruiter at Varnom Ross

4 days in the office / 1 day WFH

I’m partnered with a leading property business in West London who are seeking an experienced Service Charge / Property Accountant to take full ownership of their commercial portfolio. This is a high-impact role for a confident professional ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of property accounting, including rental income, service charges and treasury functions across a diverse portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all service charge processes: budgets, quarterly accounts, tenant apportionments, system/template improvements, balancing charges and supplier setup.
  • Lead budgeting and year-end tasks including variance analysis, service charge reconciliations, multi-budget reconciliations and void cost reviews.
  • Produce and review completion statements, ensure prompt billing, funding requests, utilities recharges, insurance allocations and accurate tenant ledgers.
  • Prepare and review month-end reports, expense journals, owner reporting, VAT and client reports, cash reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate property, lease and tenancy data, onboard new leases, support property transitions, and work with Yardi to improve system functionality.
  • Oversee treasury activities including bank account setup, rent deposit management, bank reconciliations, OPEX funding and supplier payments.
  • Support internal and external audits, manage auditors, complete CIS returns and oversee independent service charge reviews.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Commercial Property or Service Charge Accountant, or in a similar accounting role within the property management or real estate sector.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, complete reconciliations, and deliver accurate financial reporting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, supporting clear and professional engagement with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and software, including Yardi, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and other relevant applications.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills, able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
