A Council in Devon county is looking to bring in an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to support the EP team manage a varied case load.

The Role and Responsibilities
- Carrying out site visits/ inspections and asses complaints
- Investigate Noise Nuisance from both residential and commercial residencies
- Assessing Air Quality
- Investigating Contaminated Land
- Taking informal and formal enforcement action where appropriate
- Investigate waste accumulation and associated environmental protection issues
- Maintaining accurate case records and preparing reports where required
- Liaise with residents, businesses, complainants, landowners and other stakeholders
- Manage a caseload effectively and ensure investigations are progressed within appropriate timescales
Essential Requirements
- Previous Local Authority Private Sector Housing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Noise Nuisance work.
- Experience with Waste accumulation work.
- Experience of taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary
- The ability to manage a varied caseload independently and work effectively to deadlines
- The ability to deal confidently with members of the public and businesses
- Full UK driving licence.
