An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Manager to join a leading commercial property company, overseeing 3 commercial buildings at an award winning destination in Manchester. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a proactive facilities professional who thrives in a customer-focused environment and enjoys managing prime commercial assets.

The Role

As Building Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of 3 commercial buildings in Manchester. You will form part of a collaborative on-site team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage service charge budgets, working closely with the Senior Facilities Manager.
  • Produce management reports to meet business and client needs.
  • Ensure full health and safety compliance, including audits, drills, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain and update emergency plans and compliance records.
  • Manage risk and ensure insurance and statutory obligations are met.
  • Keep the buildings’ internal and external fabric in top condition within budget.
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring high-quality contractor work.
  • Build strong occupier relationships, attending meetings and responding to operational needs.
  • Lead and develop on-site facilities personnel to deliver a high-performing team.

About You

  • Proven experience managing commercial buildings or a property portfolio.
  • Strong technical knowledge of facilities and premises management.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and environmental requirements.
  • IT literate, with experience using industry-specific systems.
  • Able to work independently and confidently in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
