Food Safety Officer
Location: Essex (Hybrid – 2 days on site, 3 days remote)
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: £45–£50 per hour (umbrella)
We are working with a Council in Essex who are seeking an experienced Food Safety Officer to join their Environmental Health team on an interim basis.
The role:
- Carrying out food hygiene inspections across categories A–E.
- Covering some unrated premises as required.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety legislation and maintaining high public health standards.
Requirements:
- EHRB registration, CIEH, or possession of the Higher Certificate in Food Control (essential).
- Proven experience delivering food hygiene inspections in line with FSA requirements.
- Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating with the wider Environmental Health team.
What’s on offer:
- Flexible hybrid working (2 days on site in Essex, 3 days remote).
- Competitive hourly rate of £45–£50.
