Environmental Health Officer – Pollution / Environmental Protection
Location: Staffordshire (hybrid working)
Rate: £50+ per hour (umbrella)
Contract: 3–6 months initially, likely extension
We are working with a council in Staffordshire that is seeking an Environmental Health Officer, with a focus on pollution, on an interim basis within their Environmental Protection team.
The role will focus on:
- Assisting with the delivery of casework relating to Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Environmental Permitting, Noise Nuisance, and Filthy & Verminous properties.
- Providing expert advice and support to colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public.
- Managing a varied caseload and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
What’s on offer:
- £50+ per hour (umbrella, inside IR35).
- Hybrid working
- Initial 3–6 month contract, with potential for extension thereafter.
About you:
Qualified Environmental Health Officer is preferable or an Environmental Protection Specialist with relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of legislation and practice in Environmental Protection.
A track record of working in the public sector is desirable.
