The Team
My client’s Rating team operates across three core areas: Occupier Rating, Landlord/Developer Rating and Rate Management. The Landlord Rating team advises some of the UK’s largest and most recognisable landlords and developers across office, retail, hospitality, leisure, logistics and mixed-use portfolios. The focus is on delivering strategic rating advice and managing appeals to reduce liability and unlock value. Clients range from national brands and blue-chip occupiers to major public sector bodies.
The Role
This is an opportunity for a Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to take ownership of a defined client portfolio and act as a key point of contact for occupier clients. You will lead on rating advice, appeals and valuations with minimal supervision, while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues. The role offers real responsibility, client exposure and the chance to contribute to business growth within a collaborative, commercially focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day client instructions and casework.
- Prepare and submit Check, Challenge and Appeal cases.
- Undertake inspections, measurements and valuation assessments.
- Negotiate with the Valuation Office Agency and billing authorities.
- Support business development and strengthen client relationships.
- Mentor and develop Surveyors and Graduates.
- Contribute to thought leadership and sector initiatives.
- Maintain high professional, financial and quality standards.
About You
- MRICS qualified with post-qualification experience in rating or valuation.
- Proven experience managing client portfolios or complex cases.
- Strong analytical, valuation and commercial skills.
- Confident communicator and negotiator.
- Organised, proactive and capable of supporting junior team members.
- Familiar with rating systems and processes.
