A chance to take the next step in your engineering career

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor looking for a role where you can take real ownership, develop your leadership skills and play a key part in a rapidly growing business?

We're working with an innovative and fast-growing property and facilities management business that is transforming the way commercial buildings are operated.

As the business continues to expand across London, they're looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their growing team and oversee engineers and specialist contractors across a portfolio of commercial properties.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be managing a helpdesk from behind a desk. It's a hands-on technical positionwhere you'll remain close to the engineering, while taking greater responsibility for people, contractors, standards and the performance of the portfolio.

Why this role could be a great career move

  • Step into leadership – supervise and support engineers while developing your management experience.
  • Take ownership – you'll have genuine responsibility for the maintenance performance of a portfolio rather than simply responding to individual jobs.
  • Broaden your experience – work across a range of commercial buildings, systems, contractors and technical challenges.
  • Join a high-growth business – the company is onboarding 20+ buildings over the next 12 months, creating significant opportunity as the organisation scales.
  • Invest in your development – full funding is available for relevant training and professional qualifications.
  • Stay technically involved – this is ideal for someone who enjoys fault-finding and problem-solving and doesn't want to become purely office-based.
  • Build towards senior FM/operations roles – the combination of technical responsibility, people supervision, contractor management and client interaction provides a strong platform for progression.

The role

You'll be responsible for supervising engineers and specialist contractors across the London portfolio, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and supporting engineers and specialist contractors.
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs with a strong focus on first-time fixes.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the wider maintenance team.
  • Managing contractors and overseeing maintenance-related works.
  • Conducting site inspections and identifying potential issues before they become problems.
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Supporting compliance, health & safety and preventative maintenance programmes.

What we're looking for

We're interested in speaking with technically strong maintenance professionals who are ready to take the next step.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong M&E and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Experience supervising engineers, contractors or maintenance teams.
  • The confidence to work independently and make decisions on site.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • A proactive approach to health & safety, compliance and preventative maintenance.

A driving licence isn't required. The portfolio is foot-mobile across London.

What's on offer?

  • 28 days holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Monthly performance rewards
  • Full funding for training and professional qualifications
  • Regular company socials
  • Season Ticket Loan
  • WellHub and Dr Care Anywhere
  • Workplace Nursery Benefit
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Full uniform and equipment provided

If you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor who wants more responsibility, greater ownership and a genuine opportunity to develop your career, this could be an excellent time to join a business entering a significant period of growth.
