Are you an experienced Environmental Health Officer with a passion for improving housing standards? Varnom Ross is working with a forward-thinking London borough seeking a motivated EHO to join their Private Sector Housing team on an initial 6-month contract.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for carrying out a range of duties including:
- HHSRS inspections of privately rented properties
- HMO Licensing inspections and compliance checks
- Enforcing housing legislation and initiating formal action where necessary
- Responding to service requests and complaints from tenants and landlords
- Liaising with landlords, agents, and internal departments to ensure safe and habitable housing
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Health
- EHORB registration or CIEH-accredited
- Demonstrable experience in private sector housing, particularly HHSRS and HMO licensing
- A strong working knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and related legislation
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload
