Food Technician:
Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Food Technician to join the department. The successful applicant will have an aptitude for working with children and will be able to provide technical support to staff and students in the food classrooms. Essential qualities include experience of working in a food, catering or hospitality setting and being highly motivated to complete tasks on their own, working closely with the teaching staff. It is desired to have a food safety certificate and flexibility over the working day.
The role is 5 days per week 25 hrs per week (45.05 weeks per year), term time only. NJC scale 4B pts 11-12 £29,071 - £29,542, actual starting salary £17,017.
The food department is well established and continually provides GCSE level education to over 120 students in KS4. We are a well resourced department with two fully fitted food preparation and cookery rooms.
