This senior role will take accountability for maximising category performance through strategic range and stock planning for seasonal collections. Working with the wider merchandising team to ensure smooth production placement & intake planning. An exciting opportunity to join a growing merchandising team and implement new best practices and processes to facilitate the next stage of business growth. This role is based full-time in our Chesterfield Office.
Responsibilities
- Construct & aid presentation of company range plans ensuring accurate buy plans & financial roll-ups by category and channels.
- Review pricing hierarchy and margin for pre-season sign-off.
- Recommend product range structures, including option count and range depth, through data analytics.
- Review sales and forecast future demand for all sales channels, planning the order volumes to achieve sales budgets.
- Responsible for demand planning seasonal collections lines within the business, meeting availability targets & working with product teams to ensure commercial exit strategies.
- Provide forward visibility of stock intake & inventory holding reports.
- Review in-season stock opportunities and stock-out risks ensuring category profitability is maximised.
- Ensure merchandising calendar and critical path deadlines are met to achieve stock delivery on time in full, providing forecast information to achieve where needed.
- Line management of Merchandiser, overseeing direct channel processes & replenishment.
- Review and present weekly ecom & retail trade performance into the business.
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports for business use.
- Build strong working relationships with supply base & internal functions.
Experience and Skills
- Previous experience within a similar role for an Apparel business.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to build reports, track performance, knowledge of forecast principles & implement demand planning practices.
- Proficiency in merchandising tools and software, including Excel & Inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to collaborate effectively with other teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a fast-paced team.
