Knitwear Designer

An experienced and passionate Designer to join our thriving team. Attention to detail is essential as we obsess about every style in our collections. You must be able to follow direction while bringing your own creativity and ideas to the product and team. You must have demonstrable, relevant experience of designing and developing contemporary Knitwear to a high level.

The role

  • Work with the knitwear category Senior Designer to design original knitwear concepts, with a strong focus on stitch development, yarn sourcing and selection, and innovative knit techniques.
  • Work closely with yarn suppliers and spinners to source new, relevant yarns and trims suitable for seasonal collections.
  • Creation of Design Packs and other materials to aid in smooth handover to the Development Team.
  • Work closely with the development/production team to ensure the concepts run smoothly into reality.
  • Maintaining an organised archive of knitwear samples, yarn cards, and swatches, ensuring materials are accessible and up to date.
  • Keep internal presentation decks, range overviews and other relevant documents up-to-date.
  • Prepare detailed product knowledge documents for use by the broader business.
  • Presenting a detailed handover of collections to the Sales team.
  • Attend trade shows and other valuable off-site visits.

What you’ll need

  • Degree in Fashion / Knitwear Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Womenswear Design role (4+ years) with a knitwear focus.
  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills.
  • A curious thinker who is comfortable experimenting and pushing boundaries, whilst respecting the brand’s ethos and values.
  • Highly technical Garment, Fit & Construction knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of yarns within the market, with the ability to apply them in line with the Brand’s aesthetic.
  • A passion for clothing, with a keen eye for considered details, we use trims to elevate our products, so you must be knowledgeable in this area.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage several projects in tandem.
  • The drive to work for a market leader and the adaptability to cope with the needs of a growing brand.

  • Shima or Stoll programming experience
  • 3D Familiarity (CLO 3D, 3D AI)
  • Proficiency with Keynote
