The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring stock accuracy across all global channels. This role manages the integrity of inventory data through diligent control of RFID processes, cycle counts, and reconciliations. They will also ensure system flows and integrations function correctly to maintain inventory accuracy, partnering closely with key stakeholders and third parties.
As the central contact for the group on inventory accuracy, the Inventory Controller monitors inventory performance, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and provides clear, data-driven insights to support decision-making. The role contributes directly to growth by ensuring robust, standardised inventory control practices are consistently applied across all stores and warehouses.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accuracy & Stock Control
- Review and analyse daily store cycle counts using RFID, identifying and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with store teams.
- Coordinate annual inventory counts across all stores and warehouses, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal procedures and audit requirements.
- Monitor inventory accuracy KPIs and generate reports for key stakeholders, highlighting trends and risks.
- Work closely with store teams to ensure consistent scanning, tagging, and reconciliation practices are followed across all locations.
- Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve data integrity.
RFID Systems & Process Support
- Maintain oversight of RFID performance, troubleshooting technical or procedural issues in partnership with retail teams, warehouses and RFID providers.
- Support RFID implementation ensuring seamless setup and compliance with established processes.
- Test and evaluate RFID functionality, providing feedback to optimise system performance.
- Partner with RFID partners to scope, test, and deliver new RFID use cases that further improve inventory accuracy and loss prevention.
- Deliver training and guidance to retail teams to ensure correct tagging, scanning and adjustment procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in NetSuite, ensuring all transactions, transfers, and adjustments are processed correctly.
- Develop and distribute regular inventory accuracy and discrepancy reports to key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures related to inventory control and RFID use.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in inventory processes.
- Act as the key contact for inventory accuracy, providing guidance and support to resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
- Provide inventory accuracy support for new store openings, ensuring inventory processes are established and maintained effectively.
Requirements
- Hands‑on experience with NetSuite for inventory management.
- Practical experience with RFID systems for cycle counts, stock takes, and troubleshooting.
- 3–5 years’ experience in retail inventory control, stock accuracy, or similar multi‑site retail role.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple regions and time zones.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (UK & US) for store visits and inventory count support.
