Job Description
We are looking for a highly organised and technically capable Ecommerce Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of ecommerce development and CRO projects. This role is critical to ensuring our website delivers a best-in-class user experience, drives conversion, and supports the growth of our global digital business. You will work cross-functionally with ecommerce, marketing, design, tech and external development agencies to bring projects to life on time, within scope, and on budget.
Development Project Management
- Own the delivery of ecommerce development projects across website features, integrations, and platform improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and development briefs.
- Manage project timelines, scopes, and resourcing across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external development partners or platform providers (e.g., Shopify Plus, headless, integrations).
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including roadmaps, sprint plans, risk logs, and release notes.
- Drive QA processes, ensuring all new features and updates are thoroughly tested and meet functional, visual, and UX standards.
- Monitor site performance and stability post-deployment; coordinate with tech teams to troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Work closely with trading, UX, and marketing teams to align development priorities with commercial goals.
Data, Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse data insights and reports to inform ecommerce decisions, including contributing to user behaviour based on sales data, funnel and page analysis and return analysis.
- Monitor and follow up on Checkout Survey responses and use data to form strategic decisions for the business.
- Assist in preparing reports and summaries that provide a clear view of eCommerce performance, helping to drive strategic decisions around UX and CRO.
- Own GA4 development and analysis.
- Building out insights into user behaviours, navigational patterns, and the customer journey.
- Work with development teams to optimise site speed and performance, using tools like Google Lighthouse, GTMetrix, or PageSpeed Insights to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor key website performance metrics, including load time, uptime, and responsiveness, ensuring consistent and optimal user experiences across all devices and browsers.
- Build out, analyse and report on heatmaps, scroll maps and other visual reports.
- Deliver daily, weekly and monthly ecommerce analysis, including actionable next steps.
- Manage the survey reporting and work closely with key stakeholders to improve.
Technology
- Ensure that site performance, functionality & usability are best in class.
- Coordinate end-to-end project management for all eCommerce platform enhancements, including planning, execution, and post-launch analysis, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and third-party service providers to integrate crucial tools seamlessly into the platform.
- Ensure seamless functionality between core systems (such as CMS, ERP, CRM, and PIM) and external tools by overseeing API integrations, data flow, and system synchronisation.
- Identify and troubleshoot integration issues quickly, collaborating with technical teams to ensure real-time data exchange and system efficiency.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in ecommerce or digital project management, ideally within a retail or consumer-facing brand.
- Proven experience delivering website development projects on Shopify Plus or similar ecommerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce architecture, APIs, and integrations (e.g., payment gateways, fulfilment, CRM, personalisation tools).
- Excellent project management skills and familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with external development agencies or SaaS providers.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable using project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or ClickUp.
Desirable
- Experience working on headless ecommerce builds.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or front-end frameworks.
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools, CRO platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar).
- Passion for ecommerce and an interest in digital customer experience innovation.
Benefits
- Employee Purchase Scheme with 50% off for employees.
- Friend and Family Purchase Scheme with 20% off.
- Access to Bupa Healthcare after 2 years.
- 25 Days Holiday pro rata.
