Job Description
This senior role will take accountability for maximising category performance through strategic range and stock planning for core product and seasonal collections. Working with the wider merchandising team to ensure smooth production placement & intake planning. An exciting opportunity to join a growing merchandising team and implement new best practices and processes to facilitate the next stage of business growth.
Responsibilities
- Present category range plans with accurate buy plans and financial roll-ups by channel.
- Review pricing hierarchy and margins for pre-season sign-off.
- Provide performance analysis to product teams to guide range structure, options, and depth.
- Forecast sales and plan order volumes to achieve financial budgets.
- Issue supplier forecasts for production and fabric requirements.
- Schedule intake dates and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Manage demand planning for assigned product categories and manage exit strategies.
- Maintain visibility of stock intake and produce inventory reports.
- Ensure merchandising calendar and critical path deadlines are met.
- Line-manage Merchandiser and oversee channel processes and replenishment.
- Review and present weekly e-commerce and retail trade performance.
- Monitor in-season trading, identifying opportunities and stock-out risks.
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial reports for business use.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in a similar merchandising role within an apparel business.
- Strong analytical capability with expertise in reporting, performance tracking, forecasting principles, and demand planning practices.
- Proficient in merchandising tools and systems, including advanced Excel and inventory management platforms.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Highly organized and adaptable, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
