We’re looking for a detail-focused Tax Specialist to support compliance, reporting, and advisory work within the finance team. This role will help ensure accurate submissions, mitigate risk, and contribute to tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit PAYE and VAT returns
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payment deadlines
- Conduct reconciliations and resolve tax discrepancies
- Advise internal teams on payroll tax and VAT matters
- Monitor tax legislation changes and assess business impact
- Support tax planning and process improvements
- Liaise with HMRC and external tax advisers
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws (PAYE, VAT, HMRC processes)
- Experience in preparing tax computations and returns
- Proficient in Excel and tax software
- Excellent communication, accuracy, and analytical skills
- Previous experience in a tax-focused role (practice or in-house)
