Reporting to the Accounting & Reporting Manager, you will oversee core accounting and reporting activities, maintain reliable financial information and controls, and help operational leaders understand performance and manage costs.What you’ll doMaintain a complete and accurate general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end reporting, including accruals, provisions, prepayments and balance-sheet reconciliations.Prepare the monthly financial reporting pack, actual profit and loss reports and analysis bridges. Review and present results to senior management, explaining financial and operational performance.Produce annual budgets, monthly cost analysis, forecasts and profitability reports, and support operational managers with cost control, expenditure and ad hoc analysis.Maintain stock controls, the fixed-asset register and capital-project reporting.Prepare sales and operational reports, manage grant reporting and complete external returns such as National Statistics and Intrastat.Support annual statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns, quarterly VAT submissions, monthly external bank reporting and the external audit.Improve reporting processes and financial controls, contribute to continuous improvement, and work collaboratively across Finance and Operations while following health, safety and environmental requirements.What you’ll bringStrong accounting and reporting experience, including month-end, reconciliations and financial controls.The ability to analyse and explain financial and operational information to senior and non-finance colleagues.Good organisation, accuracy and judgement, with the ability to meet recurring deadlines and respond to changing priorities.A Big Four accounting background would be ideal, alongside the practical judgement to support an operational business.For more information, contact Tom Miller at Vargo Group on 07901 913560 or email tom.miller@vargogroup.co.uk.Please note: our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
