Vargo is looking for a proactive and experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong track record in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex, multi-million-pound technical projects within the Public Sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist clients in the successful delivery of technical projects from initiation through to completion.
- Convert business needs into technical outputs and formal statements of work.
- Establish commercially focused statement of work deliverables aligned to technical objectives.
- Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary technical teams across functions.
- Monitor supplier delivery against agreed statements of work and maintain accurate performance reporting.
- Address and resolve supplier performance concerns and escalation matters.
- Ensure client responsibilities are clearly understood and effectively managed to support successful contract outcomes.
- Oversee cross-functional teams made up of both supplier and client personnel.
- Create, manage, and update project schedules, timelines, and delivery roadmaps.
- Maintain oversight of project risks, issues, dependencies, and decision registers.
- Deliver clear, accurate, and transparent updates and reporting to stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of technical compliance and delivery quality.
- Support and enable Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Manage external suppliers, vendors, and third-party integration activities.
- Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation activities.
- Promote ongoing enhancements to processes, delivery, and performance.
- Ensure stakeholders remain informed and aligned on project objectives, technical impacts, and limitations.
Requirement:
- Practical experience collaborating effectively with technical delivery teams.
- Proven track record delivering technical projects within Public Sector environments across the complete project lifecycle, including governance, assurance, procurement, and compliance processes.
- Extensive experience managing suppliers throughout the full delivery lifecycle, either individually or across wider supplier networks.
- Strong technical awareness with the ability to challenge proposed solutions, assumptions, and delivery estimates, ideally supported by hands-on technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects using Agile, Scrum, and blended delivery methodologies.
