Vargo is recruiting for a social enterprise lender dedicated to championing financial inclusion in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer loan applications from initial enquiry through to decision and onboarding.
  • Conduct affordability assessments, customer verification (CPV), and loan administration in line with lending policies and procedures.
  • Support underwriting decisions by gathering and reviewing customer information.
  • Guide customers through the application process, including Open Banking and digital onboarding.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, resolve issues, and provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Manage customer, loan, and payment accounts using Hub Spot and other internal systems.
  • Follow up with incomplete applications and overdue payments.
  • Produce regular reports on loan activity and portfolio performance.
  • Support declined applicants by signposting them to credit-building and financial guidance resources.
  • Promote the business through customer referrals and recommendations.
  • Work closely with colleagues to improve processes and contribute to team objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service, financial services, lending, underwriting, collections, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems; Hub Spot experience is advantageous.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in consumer lending, financial services, or risk management.
