Assistant AccountantRole OverviewThe Assistant Accountant will support the finance function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing accurate financial reporting, cost control support, and day-to-day accounting assistance. The role is key in ensuring timely month-end processes, stock and cost accounting, and compliance with internal controls.Key Responsibilities:Assist with month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport preparation of management accounts and variance analysisMaintain and reconcile stock, WIP and cost of salesAssist with standard costing, and production variance analysisResponsible for cost allocation specifically for Time allocation (timesheets) and expenseProcess fixed assets, depreciation and capital expenditure reportingAssist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirementsSupport audits and liaise with internal and external stakeholdersImprove financial processes and controlsSupport implementation of SAP system (currently XERO)Provide support for transactional accountingSkills & Experience Required:2–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within manufacturingAAT qualified/ or Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACAExperience with stock, WIP, and cost accounting desirableStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)Experience using XERO and SAPStrong attention to detail and analytical mindsetWhat can you expect from usAn engaging work environment at a innovative and growing international organization.An organization where quality leading is.A pleasant and collegial working atmosphere.Compensation that is positively distinctive.Excellent benefits package.Varex Imaging is a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced X ray imaging components and systems, supporting medical, industrial, and security applications worldwide.
