Global Field Service Manager

The Senior Manager of Field Service is responsible for leading and managing the Global Field Service team supporting industrial imaging systems, including LINAC (linear accelerator) systems and cargo inspection systems used in transportation, security, and industrial applications. This role ensures delivery of high-quality service operations, installation, maintenance, and support while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory standards.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES

  • Lead a team of field service engineers and regional service managers to support installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and upgrades of LINAC and cargo inspection systems.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that drive service excellence, responsiveness, and system uptime.
  • Oversee escalation processes, root cause analysis, and field fixes for critical issues.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product teams to improve system reliability and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, radiation regulations, and local laws where systems are deployed.
  • Drive team training and certification programs to ensure deep technical knowledge across complex industrial systems.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and cost control targets.
  • Support pre-sales and post-sales activities as a technical service leader for system lifecycle planning and customer engagements.
  • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure parts availability and delivery for field service operations.
  • Implement digital tools and field service systems to increase productivity and reporting accuracy.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability, competence and confidence to lead people.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken.

Other Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Sound understanding and application of contract structuring, composition and contract negotiation.
  • Sound understanding and experience in establishing quotations, costing for jobs, monitoring costs and following up on execution.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Scope

  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and often delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies for immediate and related areas of the organization that may have company-wide effect.

Job Complexity

  • Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, works plans and performance requirements

Supervision

  • Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. Sometimes this manager may be responsible for managing staff without subordinate managers.

Typical Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • 5 years management experience
