The Role
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join the business in a part-time, standalone capacity, supporting day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys a hands-on, delivery-focused HR position and is comfortable working independently, without the need for close supervision or a structured progression path. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth HR operations while providing practical, pragmatic support to managers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day HR administration across the employee lifecycle
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries from managers and staff
- Supporting with employee relations matters (low-level casework, absence, disciplinaries, etc.)
- Maintaining HR records and ensuring compliance with employment legislation
- Assisting with recruitment coordination and onboarding
- Supporting performance management and policy implementation
- Ensuring HR processes are followed consistently across the business
About You
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role (HR Officer / Advisor level)
- Confident working independently in a standalone or minimally supported role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Practical, solutions-focused approach to HR
- Comfortable handling routine employee relations matters
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Have experience working in the public sector; this role would particularly suit someone who has worked in the civil service or in government.
- Enjoys a steady, hands-on HR role rather than strategic leadership
