Vardey Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a qualified accountant to join a creative and fast-paced company who are experiencing strong growth located in the heart of Lymington - Hampshire. As the Finance Manager/Financial Controller, you will work directly with the CEO and support this ambitious, family-run business as it enters an exciting phase of expansion.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded "Hands on" Accountant to perform the role of Finance Manager/Financial Controller to lead a small finance team from the Lymington headquarters. This is a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day finance function, including purchase ledger, cash control, and payroll.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow).
  • Ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
  • Own cash flow management and rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor income and expenditure across multiple projects.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to track costs, revenues, and margins by project.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking within the accounting system.
  • Provide clear financial insight on project profitability.
  • Drive improvements to accounting systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Lead, develop, and support a small finance team.
  • Contribute to wider business planning and commercial strategy as part of the Leadership Team.
Skills & Experience required
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar senior finance role.
  • Management experience or ability to supervise staff.
  • Strong hands-on experience of cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Experience in project-based or contract-led finance is desirable.
  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
