We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to join our clients fantastic finance team, working in the high end leisure industry sector. This Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger role plays a key part in supporting the day-to-day banking operations, reconciling accounts, processing expenses, and assisting with purchase ledger activities across multiple companies within the group.
You will work closely with the Financial Accountant and wider finance team to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with VAT and tax regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping, possibly an AAT studier or QBE to join the welcoming and brilliant finance team. Accounts Assistant key responsibilities:- Daily posting of bank receipts and direct bankings
- Weekly and monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
- Processing credit card and miscellaneous expenses, ensuring compliance with VAT and corporation tax rules
- Preparation and posting of general ledger journals
- Assist with cash flow reporting
- Support purchase ledger duties, including invoice matching, coding, and supplier payments
- Ensure month-end deadlines are met across all entities
- Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate entries and resolve queries
- Contribute to improving banking and expense processes, including involvement in projects
- Studying towards or qualified in AAT (or equivalent experience) or QBE
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes – understanding of double entry bookkeeping
- Experience in bank reconciliations, accounts payable/purchase ledger – PO experience
- Good Excel and IT skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competitive salary GBP28,000–GBP30,000
