We are partnering exclusively with a friendly and professional owner managed small, growing business based in Yeovil Somerset/Dorset borders. We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) to work in a team of 3, reporting to the Finance Manager. This is a busy and varied accounts job supporting the Finance Manager undertaking a variety of accountancy tasks.
This Accounts Assistant job is based near the train station in Yeovil and has plenty of parking at site if you drive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of all financial transactions including: Petty cash, banking, accounts payable/purchase ledger
- Assisting with the sales ledger invoices onto Sage
- Supporting with Payroll
- Assisting with credit control and the preparation of monthly payments
- Supplier reconciliations
- Assisting with the information for monthly and year-end accounts
- Bank reconciliations
- Dealing with supplier queries
- General office accounts administration
- Use of Sage 50
- Ad hoc accounts duties helping support the month end process
- Assisting with creating reports on income and expenditure against budgets
Who should apply for the job?
- An Accounts Assistant or Accounts Administrator keen to progress their career – AAT Studier
- Purchase ledger experience/knowledge
- Sales ledger experience/knowledge
- Strong Excel and IT skills ideally with experience of an accountancy system
- A team player, flexible individual

- Motivated, driven, solution orientated with a 'can do' attitude
- Eye for detail
- Good record keeping skills, ability and drive to follow problems through to resolution
In return:
- Salary range depends on experience in the range of £25,000-£28,000

- Hours are flexible and can adapt to fit the right candidate
- Training courses and on job training – study support options
- Flexible office hours if required – role could fit around school hours or be full time depends on the individual – 5 days or 4 days per week options
- Some Hybrid working is an option if needed but initially office based whilst training
