Vardey Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Poole, Dorset. This is a temporary opportunity for approximately 6 weeks with the possibility of extension starting on 11th May 2026. This temporary Accounts Assistant job is ideal for someone with strong transactional accountancy/bookkeeping experience.
You will have a solid background across accounts payable and receivable and ideally experience of multi-currencies and double entry bookkeeping.
Temporary Accounts Job Key Responsibilities- Processing daily bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations
- Managing accounts payable, including invoices, credit notes, and supplier payments
- Raising and maintaining accounts receivable invoices, customer statements, and credit control
- Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate AP/AR balances on SAP
- Processing foreign currency payments, including exchange rate adjustments and month-end calculations
- Supporting mid-month and month-end payment runs, ensuring BACS deadlines are met
- Maintaining petty cash - expenses and completing reconciliations
- Updating supplier bank details across SAP and HSBC systems
- Processing credit card transactions and managing SagePay receipts
- Completing supplier credit account applications
- Assisting with general ledger maintenance and overall finance support
- Good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes (purchase/sales ledger)
- Double entry bookkeeping
- Multi-currencies experience (ideally)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and communication skills
