Vardey Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Poole, Dorset. This is a temporary opportunity for approximately 6 weeks with the possibility of extension starting on 11th May 2026. This temporary Accounts Assistant job is ideal for someone with strong transactional accountancy/bookkeeping experience.

You will have a solid background across accounts payable and receivable and ideally experience of multi-currencies and double entry bookkeeping.

Temporary Accounts Job Key Responsibilities
  • Processing daily bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations
  • Managing accounts payable, including invoices, credit notes, and supplier payments
  • Raising and maintaining accounts receivable invoices, customer statements, and credit control
  • Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate AP/AR balances on SAP
  • Processing foreign currency payments, including exchange rate adjustments and month-end calculations
  • Supporting mid-month and month-end payment runs, ensuring BACS deadlines are met
  • Maintaining petty cash - expenses and completing reconciliations
  • Updating supplier bank details across SAP and HSBC systems
  • Processing credit card transactions and managing SagePay receipts
  • Completing supplier credit account applications
  • Assisting with general ledger maintenance and overall finance support
About you the Temporary Accounts Assistant
  • Good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes (purchase/sales ledger)
  • Double entry bookkeeping
  • Multi-currencies experience (ideally)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
