Vardey Recruitment is supporting an energetic and rapidly expanding SME organisation in the heart of Poole Town Centre in Dorset. We are recruiting for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller to join the team, working alongside the Managing Director. You will work in a small team running the busy accounts department, taking responsibility for the reporting, management accounts and supervision of the team.
Head up the Finance function as the No1 whilst supporting the MD (as their no.2) with operational and or marketing/sales support if desired, adding valuable input to contribute to business growth.
Finance Manager Job Duties- Prepare monthly management accounts up to statutory accounts level
- Analyse monthly information and create monthly financial summary
- Create profit and loss reports
- Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
- Manage monthly payroll
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Work closely with the accountants to produce annual accounts
- Supervise the finance team
- Monitor cash flow – support with credit control
- Oversee and monitor day-to-day finance operations, bookkeeping, invoicing and other transactions
- Support the supplier spend points process to include points balance vs funds held on account
- Year-end – create budgets and forecasts, margin management
- Review accounting processes and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
- Identify opportunity areas and present recommendations
- Recommend cost-reducing solutions
- Ad-hoc project work working closely with the MD
- Attend client proposals and client events to support product sales if keen to get involved – optional
- Provide marketing and operational support, adding valuable input to business growth ideas
