Vardey Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established successful company in Ringwood, Hampshire. The role involves working in a busy team focusing on credit control and the purchase ledger. Reporting to the Credit Supervisor and Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will support debt recovery and assist with purchase ledger invoicing. This position suits someone looking for an interactive trainee accounts role or someone with credit control experience wishing to develop their accounts/credit control career.

Accounts/Credit Control Job Duties:

  • Receiving and processing of customer payments and allocation onto Excel and Accounts system
  • Ensuring BACS and credit card payments are added to Excel ensuring totals balance
  • Building customer relationships using excellent rapport building skills
  • Assisting with the credit control duties via phone initially, with follow up and email
  • Monitoring and actioning the aged debtors list
  • Sending out copy invoices
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Ad hoc administration duties
  • Assisting with the purchase ledger
  • Input of invoices, dealing with suppliers

Requirements for the Credit Control/Accounts Admin role:

  • Ideally a credit control/accounts specialist or an office administrator with experience of chasing debt or a great telephone manner able to build rapport with clients.
  • Or someone looking for an accounts trainee role
  • Ideally someone numerate with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to pick up systems quickly
  • Strong MS Office Excel, Word, and IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Able to build and maintain long-term relationships
