Overview: Vardey Recruitment is recruiting a values‑based Financial Controller to join a people‑centric tech business, help lead the finance team, and drive growth as part of the senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Lead the preparation of operating budgets, monitor variances, summarise trends, and investigate budget deficiencies.
- Formulate and manage cash flow for all companies within the Group.
- Oversee monthly closing procedures, ensuring accurate and timely submission of accounts and group reports.
- Conduct thorough overhead analysis to identify areas for process improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis for key stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Recommend and implement system and process improvements to support compliance and audit, where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and support internal and external audits.
- Support the finance transactional team during periods of high volume or absence.
- Provide strategic, operational, and business‑partnering support to the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or a finalist keen to qualify.
- Ambitious and highly commercial Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, or proven Finance Controller seeking next step.
- Strong team manager able to coach others with vision to put people first.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Assertive individual with drive and tenacity.
- Business‑partnering skills, able to work in a fast‑paced nurturing business centered on people.
