Vardey Recruitment is working in an exclusive partnership with DFD (Dorset FD), an entrepreneurial Corporate Finance Boutique incorporating high value Accountancy work in the idyllic location of Dorchester in West Dorset. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Qualified Accountant to perform a dual role as a Senior Associate / Corporate Finance Analyst. The varied role involves nurturing both well established and budding companies from their first year-end to eventual founder exit.
They provide traditional but proactive year end accountancy and taxation services, complemented by high-quality management information production, as well as independent Finance Director consultancy and Lead Advisory Corporate Finance advice. Their focus is on developing ambitious businesses to scale and then offering valuations, founder exit planning and eventual business sale execution. Clients are generally premium brands & businesses, and DFD is well networked with leading Private Equity firms and high-quality trade buyers.
DFD was founded by Big 4 Accountancy alumni and has been a member firm of the ICAEW since its launch in 2010. DFD has grown very rapidly in the last few years and offers its team a range of opportunities to develop their skills, careers, and network. Summary Of Senior Accountant - Job Description
- Involvement in corporate finance projects from Day 1, including running sales processes for businesses, buy side support and valuations of businesses typically between £5m & £20m turnover.
- Servicing independent Finance Director contracts with high quality management information and analysis.
- Managing a portfolio of value-added compliance work working alongside DFD’s network of high-quality independent bookkeepers.
- Further develop the client base, service lines, systems and team.
Skills Needed for Senior Accountant
- A strong examinations background in Accountancy and Finance (ACA/ACCA Qualified preferred).
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software and a thorough understanding of accounting issues and how to resolve them.
- Proven expertise in managing client relationships in the professional services industry that includes a problem-solving mentality.
- A desire to continue with professional development to obtain a broad base of highly sought after skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor junior accountants as the team grows.
