You’ll report directly to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with the General Manager on-site — a key sole charge finance position in a small business yet part of a larger group, which can offer long term career progression and study support.
Financial Accountant Job RoleAs an Assistant Accountant / Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, with responsibility for:
- Accurate and timely completion of month-end accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet)
- Intercompany reconciliations within the group
- Overseeing sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook
- Processing bank payments and preparing bank reconciliations
- Reviewing and submitting statutory returns (VAT, tax)
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Liaising with external auditors during annual audits
- Improving processes and procedures
- Ad hoc project work - eg Integration work - and supplier analysis
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused AAT studier, AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant or ambitious QBE who enjoys working in a sole charge and varied role.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good Excel and ability to work independently
- Confident communication skills and a proactive attitude
This role would suit an experienced Assistant Accountant ready to progress, or a part-qualified accountant/QBE seeking broader exposure in a supportive ambitious environment.
