We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure, Cloud & Cyber Security Engineer to join our Information Technology team.

This is a hands-on senior technical role, working onsite 37.5 hours per week, with responsibility for designing, implementing, securing and continually improving MSI's IT infrastructure and Microsoft technology platforms.

You will play a key role in supporting our ongoing digital transformation, cloud adoption, cyber security maturity and infrastructure modernisation programmes.

Working closely with the Head of IT, you will lead technical projects, drive automation and standardisation, act as a senior escalation point and ensure our systems remain secure, resilient and aligned to business and regulatory requirements.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Microsoft Cloud & Modern Workplace
  • Manage and optimise Microsoft 365 services, tenant administration, licensing, governance and Modern Workplace solutions.
  • Lead adoption of new Microsoft technologies, collaboration tools, productivity solutions and M365 security best practice.
  • Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management
  • Own Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint security, device compliance and configuration management.
  • Manage application deployment, MDM/MAM, device lifecycle, patching and operational compliance.
  • Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Services
  • Design, deploy and support Azure environments, including virtual machines, storage, networking, backup and recovery.
  • Support hybrid cloud, migration, automation, resilience, disaster recovery, performance, security and cost optimisation.
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, Identity Governance, PIM, RBAC and SSO.
  • Manage user lifecycle processes, access controls and secure identity services in line with Zero Trust principles.
  • Infrastructure & VMware
  • Administer VMware, Windows Server, virtual infrastructure, storage, networking, backup and disaster recovery services.
  • Plan upgrades, maintenance and patching, ensuring infrastructure remains secure, resilient, available and well-optimised.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network and virtualisation issues.
  • Cyber Security & Compliance
  • Lead cyber security initiatives and administer Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Purview services.
  • Monitor alerts, investigate incidents, manage vulnerabilities, conduct risk reviews and maintain security baselines.
  • Support compliance, audits, business continuity and disaster recovery planning across relevant security frameworks.
  • Enterprise Systems & Business Applications
  • Support enterprise applications, integrations, upgrades and business improvement initiatives.
  • Work with ERP platforms, vendors and stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
  • Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
  • Act as senior technical escalation point and mentor junior engineers and service desk colleagues.
  • Lead infrastructure, cloud and cyber security projects, contributing to roadmaps, governance and continual improvement.
  • Produce technical documentation, procedures, standards and architecture designs.
  • Process Improvement & Automation
  • Develop automation using Power Shell and Microsoft technologies to improve efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
  • Maintain technical standards, engineering best practice and process improvements.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, MSPs and third-party vendors.
  • Provide clear reporting, recommendations and technical communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience, with at least five years in a senior technical IT role.
  • Strong experience across Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Defender, Windows Server, VMware, Power Shell, networking, backup and disaster recovery.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale IT environments, with strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Cyber security capability across security operations, vulnerability management, monitoring, incident response, Defender, Sentinel, Zero Trust, risk, compliance and governance.
  • Professional strengths in Power Shell automation, documentation, problem solving, project delivery, vendor management, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.
