Private Clinic Opportunity | Essex / Greater London Border | Face-to-Face | Ad Hoc Assessments

We are currently supporting a well-established independent neurodevelopmental clinic to recruit an experienced Associate Educational Psychologist to support with Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) Assessments, Dyslexia/Dyscalculia Assessments and Form 8 Exam Access Arrangements.

Due to increasing referral demand and continued service expansion, this is an excellent opportunity for an Educational Psychologist seeking flexible associate work within a highly supportive, strengths-based private clinic environment. This role would particularly suit an Educational Psychologist looking for additional ad hoc work alongside existing commitments, with flexibility around availability.

The Opportunity

  • As an Associate Educational Psychologist, you will undertake face-to-face educational assessments within a welcoming private clinic environment based in an accessible area on the Essex / Greater London border, with good transport links from both London and surrounding Essex locations.
  • The work is ad hoc and referral dependent, with an anticipated capacity of 1–2 clinic days per month, completing two assessments per clinic day.
  • Appointment times: 9:30am and 1:00pm, Fridays preferred, with flexibility for midweek availability.
  • Strong administrative and operational support provided.
  • High-quality, structured clinical process in place.

Associate Fees

  • Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) Assessment: £600 per assessment
  • Form 8 Exam Access Arrangement Assessment: £600 per assessment
  • Combined Autism & SpLD Assessment: £800–£1,050 per assessment

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing face-to-face educational psychology assessments for children, young people and adults.
  • Conducting Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) assessments, including dyslexia and dyscalculia assessments.
  • Completing Form 8 assessments to support exam access arrangements, including recommendations for extra time, readers, scribes, supervised rest breaks and assistive technology.
  • Undertaking cognitive and psychoeducational assessments using recognised assessment tools.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic reports with evidence-based recommendations for home and educational settings.
  • Completing a post-assessment feedback consultation with parents/carers following assessment.
  • Liaising with schools where required to support Form 8 completion and exam adjustment recommendations.
  • Supporting independent educational assessments and EHCP-related work where appropriate.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary assessments where required.

What We’re Looking For

  • HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist.
  • Experience completing educational psychology and cognitive assessments.
  • Experience assessing Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) including dyslexia and/or dyscalculia.
  • Confidence completing Form 8 reports for exam access arrangements.
  • Strong report writing skills with excellent written communication.
  • Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of assessment quality.
  • Experience supporting independent educational assessments and EHCP-related work.
  • Familiarity with a range of cognitive and attainment assessments.
  • Previous experience within private practice or independent assessment settings.
