Following several successful graduate programmes, AIS is looking to employ four graduate engineers, with a focus on design engineering or material science, to join our graduate programme, commencing in October 2026.

About The Scheme

The two year scheme will consist of two consecutive one-year placements. The first year will be based in Skelmersdale and the second year based in Gloucester. You will then be invited to apply for a permanent position at the end of the programme. You can expect to receive in-depth, practical experience and training opportunities during your placement. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced engineers who are playing a leading role in providing products and solutions to the challenging subsea, marine and renewables industries. You will work with the team and contribute to the delivery of high value contracts. You will also gain experience of working within two separate businesses within the AIS group, providing a valuable insight into how different businesses operate in order to provide best value to their customers.

The ideal Graduate Design Engineer will be:

  • Educated to a Degree level in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or Material Science)
  • Able to work independently on set tasks and schedule workload
  • Able to demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Proficient in clear, written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Innovative and have an agile approach to work
