Junior Project Design Engineer

AIS Manuplas is looking for a Junior Project Design Engineer to join our team in Plymouth. The purpose of this role is to ensure on-time delivery and meet cost targets through the generation of accurate job cards, technical instructions, and effective communication with the factory and customers.

Role: Responsibilities

1. Learn to produce detailed written work instructions for the manufacture and installation of products.
2. Assist in creating technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software to accompany work instructions and quotations.
3. Assist with Blender design software for project assembly models, installation instructions, and supporting sales with project visuals.
4. Support CNC toolpathing.
5. Gain knowledge in product design and development, including data analysis and engineering research.
6. Complete structural and mechanical calculations.
7. Create new parts and bills of materials.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to the factory.
9. Process project documentation in accordance with project requirements, ensuring accurate and concise reporting.
10. Assist the operation, manufacturing, and installation departments as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Reliable and able to work independently.
• Able to blend creative aesthetic design with engineering problem solving and design for fabrication.
• Practical with a logical approach to problem solving.
• Able to produce accurate, high-standard work.
• Experience in manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization and time management skills.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week: 8:00 am – 4:45 pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00 am – 12:30 pm on Fridays.
