Role
At Vantage, the Manager, Reinsurance Finance, will be responsible for various finance-related tasks, focusing on BMA statutory financial statements and BSCR returns. This role reports to the VP, Finance and is an office-based position. Base salary for the selected candidate will be commensurate with candidate experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Actively participate in the monthly close process including prepare and/or review detailed monthly and quarterly journal entries, prepare and/or review account reconciliations, variance analysis etc.
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements under Bermuda Regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual BSCR capital model calculations and related filings.
- Coordinate with internal teams to manage statutory filing requirements and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of supplemental schedules related to treasury, actuarial, risk, legal and compliance.
- Assist with internal audit and financial statement audit process.
- Assist with the implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain documented processes and procedures.
- Collaborate and assist the Reinsurance Finance team on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or similar) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification professional experience within the P&C reinsurance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of Bermuda statutory accounting principles and BSCR capital model requirements.
- Technical knowledge of reinsurance terms, contracts, reserving and settlement practices.
- Very strong analytical, documentation, organizational and presentation skills.
- Capable of delivering results both independently and as part of a team, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- A natural ability to use initiative and self-manage, with ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and General Ledger systems – Oracle is preferred, but not required.
