Sustainability & Compliance Manager, Derby based. £45,000–£65,000

Are you a Sustainability & Compliance Manager who enjoys getting under the skin of legislation, understanding what it means for a business and making sure the right processes are put in place?

This is a newly created opportunity for a hands-on Sustainability & Compliance Manager to take ownership of a growing compliance and sustainability remit within a successful international product-based business.

Predominantly supporting print equipment, consumables and associated products, you will strengthen product compliance, supplier standards and sustainability across the business.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit back and write strategy.

As Sustainability & Compliance Manager, you will get involved, work across departments, keep ahead of changing legislation and turn complex requirements into practical actions.

As Sustainability & Compliance Manager, you will: Monitor UK and EU legislation and identify what changes mean for the business.

Build and improve product compliance processes.

Support CE/UKCA, product safety, REACH and chemical compliance.

Strengthen packaging compliance, EPR and supplier documentation.

Improve product traceability and technical files.

Work with international suppliers to obtain and maintain compliance information.

Support emerging regulations including DPP, ESPR and PPWR.

Develop measurable sustainability goals and support carbon reporting.

Improve ESG information and customer sustainability responses.

Lead cross-functional compliance and sustainability projects.

We are looking for a Sustainability & Compliance Manager with: Around 5–7 years' experience in compliance, sustainability or regulatory affairs.

Experience within manufacturing, consumer products, engineering, equipment or another product-led environment.

Strong knowledge of UK and EU product compliance.

Experience interpreting legislation and turning it into workable processes.

Experience working with international suppliers and supply chains.

Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.

A practical, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.

This Sustainability & Compliance Manager role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, driving change and building something rather than simply maintaining an established function.
