Your responsibilities as a Part-Time Bookkeeper:
- Take ownership of Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledgers across three limited companies
- Manage foreign currency transactions (GBP, EUR, USD, JPY) using Sage 50 Professional's Foreign Trader module
- Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts and monitor exchange rate movements
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with MTD requirements
- Track budgets and assist in preparing annual and quarterly forecasts
- Liaise with external accountants and the Group Controller, sharing monthly trial balances, year-end data and audit information
- Maintain accurate financial tracking on project revenue and costs
- Administer funds held on behalf of customers, ensuring compliant reconciliation
- Submit payroll data to the outsourced provider on a monthly basis
- Monitor finance inboxes and support the Director with ad-hoc administrative tasks
What you'll need to bring:
- Strong, demonstrable experience as a Part-Time Bookkeeper working remotely
- Expert-level knowledge of Sage 50 Professional (including Foreign Trader module)
- High level of confidence working with multi-currency accounts and foreign bank reconciliations
- A solid understanding of VAT returns and reporting requirements
- Comfort working independently with limited supervision
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially with project-based finance
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders
The working setup:
- 24 hours per week, with flexibility on how these are spread
- Fully remote, with travel to Derby 2-4 times per month to check the mail
