Your Role

Start your career in regulatory operations with a role that gives you real responsibility from day one. We're hiring Regulatory Operations Analysts through our Elevate Programme in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing data, solving problems, working with detail, and contributing to processes that help organisations meet important regulatory obligations.

In this role, you'll support the delivery of Business As Usual (BAU) regulatory reporting activities across multiple regulatory regimes, including MiFID II, REMIT, EMIR, and SFTR. You'll work across reporting, reconciliations, investigations, management information, and process improvement activities, helping ensure that regulatory reporting remains accurate, complete, and compliant.

If you're someone who enjoys analytical work, can manage competing priorities, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes, this could be a great fit.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the production and delivery of regulatory reports in line with agreed control frameworks.
  • Conducting internal and external reconciliations to validate reporting accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigating reporting exceptions, breaks, and data discrepancies.
  • Maintaining strong oversight and control of regulatory reporting processes and data.
  • Producing management information and operational reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Analysing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Working with technology teams to support process enhancements and data quality improvements.
  • Assisting with regulatory, audit, and client deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supporting process improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support governance and control requirements.
  • Providing support across multiple reporting processes and regulatory obligations as required.
  • Participating in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What a typical day could look like

  • Joining a morning team meeting to discuss priorities, reporting deadlines, and emerging issues.
  • Reviewing daily reconciliation results and investigating any exceptions identified.
  • Analysing reporting data to ensure regulatory submissions are accurate and complete.
  • Preparing management information reports for operational and stakeholder review.
  • Working with colleagues and technology teams to resolve data-quality or process issues.
  • Supporting the production and submission of regulatory reports.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate or improve existing processes.
  • Updating trackers and documentation to ensure clear audit trails and reporting oversight.
  • Reviewing progress against deadlines and preparing priorities for the next day.

What We're Looking For

We're open to graduates, career changers, and individuals with some early professional experience. You do not need to have worked in regulatory reporting before.

We're likely to be interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • Essential Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and workload management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence communicating with a range of stakeholders and adapting your style appropriately.
  • A proactive approach to learning, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge or interest in financial markets and financial services.
  • Previous experience in an operational, reporting, analytical, or financial services environment.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis.
  • Experience using reporting, workflow, or case management systems.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, controls, reconciliations, or audit activities.
  • An interest in regulatory operations, compliance, risk management, or financial regulation.

What success looks like in this role

  • Delivering accurate and timely regulatory reporting activities.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, control, and operational effectiveness.
  • Successfully investigating and resolving reporting exceptions and data issues.
  • Meeting agreed productivity, quality, and service-level targets.
  • Demonstrating strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Building knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and industry regulations.
  • Contributing ideas that improve efficiency, automation, and process quality.
  • Developing trusted working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and technology teams.

Programme Benefits & Progression

This is an opportunity to build strong foundations in regulatory operations, data analysis, reporting controls, stakeholder management, and financial services operations. You'll learn how regulatory reporting frameworks operate, how organisations manage reporting obligations, and how data, technology, risk, and governance combine to support compliance requirements. The experience gained can support future progression into regulatory reporting, risk, compliance, operations management, data analytics, change delivery, financial crime, and broader financial services careers.
