Procurement and Supply Chain Consultant

Full-Time No working from home possible
Vantage Point Global

London hybrid with 3-4 days per week onsite

Immediate start

2 - 6 years of experience preferred

We are seeking SC‑cleared consultants to join a high‑profile public‑sector programme focused on cost optimisation, commercial improvement, and strategic sourcing.

This is an opportunity to work within a fast‑paced delivery environment, helping organisations identify efficiencies, optimise spend, improve commercial outcomes and deliver measurable value.

We're particularly interested in candidates with strong consulting fundamentals, including structured problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement, analysis, and delivery management. Experience in procurement, commercial, sourcing or supply chain environments is beneficial, but consulting capability is significantly more important than sector‑specific expertise.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working with ambiguity, managing workstreams independently and producing high‑quality client‑facing deliverables within complex stakeholder environments.

You must already hold active, transferable SC Clearance

Clearance requirements

  • You must currently hold active UK Government Security Check (SC) Clearance.
  • Your clearance must be transferable to a new government assignment.
  • You must be available to start immediately or at short notice.

We cannot consider candidates who

  • Previously held SC Clearance that has expired or lapsed.
  • Are eligible to obtain SC Clearance but do not currently hold it.
  • Require sponsorship for a new SC clearance application.
  • Hold clearances that are not transferable to UK Government projects.

Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be progressed.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver consulting workstreams with limited supervision.
  • Support cost optimisation, value improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic sourcing and commercial improvement activities.
  • Gather, analyse and synthesise quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Develop client‑ready reports, presentations and recommendations.
  • Structure complex problems into clear and actionable work plans.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings and stakeholder discussions.
  • Manage risks, issues and dependencies across delivery activities.
  • Support programme governance, planning and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively within high‑performing consulting teams.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience within consulting, advisory, transformation or professional services environments.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage workstreams and deliver against deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to unfamiliar business environments.
  • Strong organisation and delivery management skills.
  • Active transferable SC Clearance.
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
  • Ability to work onsite in London 3‑4 days per week.

Desirable

  • Public Sector or Central Government experience.
  • Cost optimisation, efficiency or value‑for‑money programmes.
  • Strategic sourcing or commercial transformation initiatives.
  • Business transformation or operational improvement projects.
  • Data analysis, reporting and performance management.
  • Experience working within secure government environments.
  • Agile or hybrid delivery experience.

About You

You’ll be a proactive consultant who enjoys solving complex problems and working directly with clients to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You’ll bring

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative and professional approach.
  • Commercial awareness and sound judgement.
  • The ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ownership, accountability and a delivery‑focused mindset.
  • Resilience and adaptability in changing environments.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can quickly understand a client’s challenges, build credibility with stakeholders and deliver practical, evidence‑based recommendations.

Location & Working Pattern

  • London-based hybrid role.
  • 3‑4 days per week onsite.
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • Active transferable SC Clearance required.
