Contract: Full-time, with strong potential for progression

The Opportunity

Join the Elevate Programme and launch your career in a leading professional services organisation within a specialist Independence and Compliance function. Over 18 months, you will receive structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience supporting the firm’s regulatory responsibilities, including Independence, Business Conduct, and Ethics. You will work alongside experienced professionals from day one, take on meaningful responsibility, and build skills that enable progression into risk, compliance, and advisory roles.

Your Role

Start your career in risk and compliance operations with a role that gives you real responsibility from day one. We’re hiring a Corporate Independence Analyst through our Elevate Programme. This is a strong opportunity for someone at the start of their career who enjoys problem-solving, working with complex rules, and supporting client-facing teams.

In this role, you’ll support engagement teams and the wider business in applying independence rules and regulatory requirements. You’ll help assess new client opportunities, provide guidance on services, and ensure compliance systems are kept accurate and up to date. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, advisory-focused environment where attention to detail, sound judgement, and strong communication are key.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the application of independence policies and helping ensure the firm meets its regulatory obligations.
  • Your day-to-day work is likely to include:
    • Supporting audit teams and internal stakeholders on independence considerations for new client engagements and audit tenders
    • Assisting with client transitions, including audit rotations, and ensuring systems are updated accurately
    • Advising internal teams on the permissibility of non-audit services and tools
    • Providing guidance based on firm policies and external regulations (e.g. FRC, IESBA, SEC)
    • Reviewing and responding to queries from across the business, interpreting rules and applying them to specific scenarios
    • Managing your own portfolio of independence consultations and assessments
    • Recording outcomes and maintaining accurate documentation across internal systems
    • Contributing to core independence processes and operational activities
    • Supporting wider team initiatives and ad-hoc projects where required

What a typical day could look like

  • Joining a team check-in to review priorities and ongoing consultations
  • Reviewing new independence queries and determining next steps
  • Interpreting policy requirements and drafting guidance for stakeholders
  • Engaging with client-facing teams to clarify facts and provide advice
  • Updating systems and ensuring records are accurate and complete
  • Managing multiple consultations and progressing them to resolution
  • Supporting process improvements and sharing insights with colleagues

What We're Looking For

We’re open to graduates, career changers, and individuals with some early professional experience. You do not need direct independence or compliance experience to apply. We’re likely to be interested in people who can show:

  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to make sound judgements
  • Attention to detail and a structured approach to complex tasks
  • An interest in regulation, risk, and professional standards
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence interacting with stakeholders at different levels
  • The ability to manage and prioritise their own workload
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and demands
  • A collaborative team-oriented approach with good self-management

What success looks like in this role

  • Providing clear, accurate, and practical guidance to stakeholders
  • Applying independence rules consistently and effectively
  • Building confidence in managing consultations independently
  • Maintaining high-quality documentation and system accuracy
  • Developing strong working relationships across the business
  • Progressing through internal capability milestones over time

Programme Benefits & Progression

This is a chance to build strong foundations in risk, compliance, regulatory interpretation, and stakeholder advisory. You’ll learn how to operate in a structured, high-accountability environment where accuracy, judgement, and communication are critical. You’ll also gain experience that can support future progression into independence advisory, risk and compliance, regulatory policy, or wider professional services roles. Through the Elevate Programme, you’ll receive structured support, fully paid training, and ongoing development to help build both confidence and capability.
