We are seeking a confident, caring and experienced Toddler Room Lead to take responsibility for a busy and engaging toddler room within a well-established early years setting.

The Role

As Toddler Room Lead, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of the toddler room and support your team to deliver consistently high standards of care and education.

You will plan and oversee engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities that reflect the interests and individual needs of the children.

You will also ensure that routines, observations, assessments and safeguarding procedures are followed effectively.

Working closely with the nursery leadership team, you will help maintain a positive team culture and ensure that parents and carers feel informed, reassured and involved in their child’s development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the toddler room team in the delivery of high-quality childcare and early education.
  • Plan and oversee stimulating learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Create a nurturing environment that supports children’s emotional, physical, social and language development.
  • Ensure children’s individual routines, needs and interests are understood and met.
  • Complete and oversee observations, assessments and next-step planning.
  • Build strong and professional relationships with parents and carers.
  • Support staff through guidance, mentoring and day-to-day supervision.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and statutory requirements are followed at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing ratios and support the effective organisation of the room.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to support continuous improvement across the setting.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and organised early years professional who is confident leading others and committed to delivering excellent outcomes for young children.

You will have

  • A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children under three.
  • Experience as a Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader or senior practitioner, or the confidence to step into a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements, toddler development and age-appropriate practice.
  • An Enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one.
